John Lewis – Birmingham
Aluminum supply for the construction of Birmingham New Street / John Lewis (Birmingham, United Kingdom)....
In our warehouse we permanently have a large Stock of Aluminum containing plain sheets, tread plates, coils, profiles and bars. We have this material raw, lacquered or anodized, that can also have protective film (PVC), and can be in several alloys – namely 1050, 5005 and 5754 – and of various sizes and thicknesses.
H0 (soft), H14 and H24 (1/2 hard)
Alloy 1050 is the most used and the best suited for lacquering. It has a 99.5% aluminum composition and is characterized by its excellent corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity, low mechanical resistance and high flexibility.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
H14 and H24 (1/2 hard)
Alloy 5005 is the best suited for anodizing treatments: 5005 H24 AQ, certified for anodization. It contains magnesium in its composition, which is effective in hardening aluminum. 5xxx alloys have good welding characteristics and corrosion resistance.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
H111 (soft)
Alloy 5754 is the best suited for laser cutting. It contains magnesium in its composition, which is effective in hardening aluminum.
5xxx alloys have good welding characteristics and corrosion resistance.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
H114 AD
Plate with embossed surface in order to become non-slip. The variants of non-slip embossed texture are: with five tears; with two tears; with diamond tip. The relief has a thickness ranging from 0.8mm to 1.5mm depending on the texture of the plate.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
QUALINOD certified anodizing treatments.
Anodizing consists of an electrolytic process in which a porous oxide layer is formed on the surface of aluminium, in order to protect it. This is one of the least aggressive processes for the environment, since neither organic solvents nor heavy metals are used. One should always use alloy 5005 (but not all of its types are suitable for anodizing).
We supply anodized materials with 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 microns, depending on the application.
To minimize the risk of non-uniformity of color, material of the same alloy, hardness and of the same batch should be used.
H0 e H12 (soft and 1/4 hard)
Aluminum coils (rolls) with DDQ quality (Deep Drawing Quality). 1050 alloy is the most used and is best suited for lacquering.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
H24 (1/2 hard)
Modified surface sheet textured with small protrusions and with an appearance resembling stucco. Stucco sheets have more durability than identical flat sheets.
Other measurements / thicknesses on request.
QUALICOAT certified lacquering treatments.
Lacquering is one of the most used processes to protect aluminum, given its low cost and variety of colors available – any color from the RAL pallet. There are two lacquering processes: sheet to sheet (powder-coated); continuous – only one face (powder-coated or liquid painting).
The ideal alloy for lacquering is the 1050.
The most important quality parameters regarding coating are thickness and adhesion. The thickness to which the coating can be applied depends on the type of product used as coating material:
– in case of Liquid Lacquered: 25 to 50 microns;
– in case of Powder Lacquered: 60 to 110 microns.
Materials must be lacquered after bending or cutting. To minimize the risk of non-uniformity of color, material of the same alloy and hardness should be used.
Tubes, Bars, Bolts and Corners, available in round, square and rectangular formats.
Measurements / thicknesses on request.
We can supply our materials with protective film (PVC) (with or without UV protection) and / or frosted. In this way, the surfaces of sheets are protected against damage, especially after lacquering or anodizing.
This coating can be made on one or both sides of the material.
We can deliver our materials to our customers in any area of Portugal and Spain.
We provide pre-sales technical support, so that our customers get the solution that suits them, thanks to our experience of dozens of years in large-scale works.
Caldeira Clemente imports and markets aluminum. We store and distribute semi-finished aluminum products, raw, lacquered or anodized, for all Portugal and Spain.
We exist since 1959 and have a vast knowledge of the market, in the sectors of civil construction – namely facades, doors and windows; metalworking; automotive components; kitchen utensils; decoration; corporate image.
We are the only company in Portugal dedicated exclusively to the distribution of semi-manufactured Aluminum products. Nowadays, there are numerous applications of aluminum, thanks to its low weight, high flexibility, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance.
In our warehouse we permanently have a large stock of Aluminum. We may also stock stainless steel, copper and brass. In addition to our warehouse stock, we provide these and other materials upon request for our clients’ specific projects. We intend to offer a service of excellence to our clients and partners, collaborating in the long term in the best solution for your needs.
